|Award-winning singer/songwriter Kim Trusty will be doing three major concerts in Providence this year, each one celebrating a different theme close to her heart. The first event will be dedicated to iconic women singers who have triumphed over hardship. Under the brilliant musical direction of Delbert Leon Collins, Trusty and band will feature Jazz and Blues tunes from artists like Billie Holiday, Randy Crawford and Chaka Khan, along with original songs by Trusty.
The opening band will be The Jennifer Minuto Quartet. Renowned Storyteller Valerie Tutson will add her magic embroidering the music with her wit and imagination.
Performing on Mothers Day (May 13, 2018), Trusty will pay "tribute to mothers" all over the world . . . the unacknowledged women who give the ultimate gift of sacrifice and selfless love. In a call for unity, the next two concerts will be dedicated to Peace, Love and Healing. For more information, stay tuned.
Trusty is still climbing the mountain. On her journey, she has met racial and gender prejudice, cancer, sexual abuse, strokes, poverty and homelessness. And yet she carries on, rising from each fall a little stronger to bring us music that inspires and heals.
Against a backdrop of a world in crisis, Trusty asks us to stop and listen. Above the noise, she reminds us that there are no glass ceilings when we dream and work together.
Bring comfortable shoes.
This show will leave you singing and dancing in the aisles!
