The RI Interfaith Coalition to Reduce Poverty is excited to announce its first annual Faith in Action Advocacy Day!
Rhode Island has the highest poverty rate in New England. Currently, one in nine people live in poverty and hunger is more prevalent then it was 10 years ago. Many people struggle to find safe, affordable housing, accessible healthcare, equitable education, and work with decent wages.
Join us as we come together to educate, empower and organize to fight poverty in our state. We will provide an Advocacy 101 training and then head up to the State House for a press conference and time to speak with legislators.
This event is accesssible for people who have never visited the State House before and for those who are practiced in meeting with legislators. If you cannot make the Advocacy 101 training we still encourage you to meet us at the State House and join us as we call for justice and mercy for everyone in our state!
