BECOME A STREET MUSICIAN for S.M.I.L.E:

We are endeavoring to make Mathewson Street, (the street that runs from PPAC to THE DUNK)  the “Bourbon Street” of Rhode Island to fund our churches extensive services to the homeless and other worthy groups serving the community.

On Friday and Saturday nights this November and December from 4:00 to 10:00 (in two hour shifts) S.M.I.L.E. Street Musicians will wear a S.M.I.L.E. t-shirt and stand next to the S.M.I.L.E. banner and a S.M.I.L.E. decorated collection bucket.  If you just enjoy a good time, then on your way home or to a show or restaurant come drop by to enjoy the musicians…and throw some buckaroos in the bucket.  Some of the best musicians in Rhode Island have already signed up.  Come enjoy the city lights!

Proceeds will be equally distributed to each of the following programs all located at the Mathewson Street United Methodist Church building at 134 Mathewson Street:  MSUMC Friendship Prayer Breakfast, MSUMC Re-Entry Ministry (for ex offenders),  MSUMC Apartment Creation Revolving Loan Fund, MSUMC Handicap Accessibility Fund, MSUMC Sprinkler System Fund (with matching grant) (which will allow low income youth theatre programs to use the building for their rehearsals and plays), Rhode Island Organizing Project, Rhode Islanders for Community and Justice, PICA Friday Night Community Meal,  Family Service of R.I. Programs, and 134 Collaborative.
