WORKSHOPS BEING OFFERED FOR ADVANCED TRAINING:

Healthy Boundaries in Retirement
The decision to retire from active ordained ministry (or as the Pension Boards likes to call it, “annuitizing”) brings about unique and often challenging issues related to professional boundaries.  Some of us leave the communities where we have served, others remain in these communities, some even desire to continue participating in the congregations from which we are retiring.  Whatever the circumstances, thoughtful consideration is essential as we contemplate future relationships with churches, associations and newly-called clergy who follow us in our ministries.   While clergy who have already retired are most welcome, this workshop will focus primarily on those who anticipate this transition in the next 5-10 years.  Trainer: Rev. Chuck Erickson

$$$$ - Dangers, Toils and Snares – the Amazing Grace of Financial Leadership
As a pastor you have fiduciary responsibilities, whether you (or your congregation) likes it or not!  You need to be equipped to identify and manage conflicts of interest.  You need to be empowered to speak up when financial practices don’t feel right.  You need to be aware of the boundaries that can be breached, the potential consequences, and how best practices help protect the congregation, the people managing financial affairs, and you!   Trainer: Charlie Kuchenbrod

Spiritual Self Care
Spiritual well-being and ministerial efficacy and integrity require attention to self-care. This interactive workshop will engage participants in examining impediments to self-care; conducting a self-care inventory;  and considering and committing to disciplines/practices that enhance and fuel self-care. Trainer: Rev. Allie Perry

Virtual Safe Church Boundaries
When church leaders communicate in the virtual world – email, texting, Facebook, Twitter – what boundary issues do they need to keep in mind?  This workshop will offer guidelines and an opportunity to explore those issues together.   Trainers:  Tiffany Vail and Allison Patton
