At Irons Homestead, we strive to provide a nurturing, safe and challenging environment for children and youth to grow socially and spiritually. This requires trained staff and volunteers. We have designed a 40 hour training program for youth workers to provide quality staff for our program and also to help churches and other organizations with their volunteer training. This program is free for everyone who volunteers at Irons Homestead. The cost is $60 for those who simply wish to be trained but not volunteer.
The training includes but is not limited to: ages & stages of development, trauma informed care, Kohlbergs moral principles, health & safety, behavior management, sensitive issues, environment, abuse/bully prevention, challenge by choice, life skills...and more Our first of several training events is scheduled for March 22-24. It is an overnight to include issues related to overnight events. All other session will be day only.
